Most people are under the impression that growing on TikTok is extremely easy. After all, it has the best alghoritm which pushes your content out to people who don’t even follow you by default, no?
But the reality is that getting a viral TikTok isn’t nearly as easy as people say. And I know this because I tried to get a viral video on multiple accounts, thinking it would take me a week or so at most.
Wrong. I failed continuously on TikTok. And looking back at it, I know exactly why.
So these are my tips on how to grow a TikTok account for your business.
Tip No. 1: Quality videos
I was under the impression that no matter how bad my camera was, I had a high chance of going viral. That was not the case. I was uploading 3 videos per day for a month and not a single video had more than 3000 views.
Invest in a good camera or a phone with a good camera and your chance of going viral will be much higher.
Tip No. 2: Don’t buy followers
In the past I tried to create my own clothing brand with the main marketing strategy being TikToks and Instagram reels. You can’t have a link in your bio if you have less than 1000 followers on TikTok, so I just bought 1000 followers so I can insert the link to my shop.
This killed my account. No engagement whatsoever, no viral videos.
And it also looked terrible when I had 1054 followers (only 54 being real obviously) and 761 likes.
My current TikTok @/electrastream has 210 followers (real ones) at the time i’m writing this and 10.6k likes. Much better ratio.
Be patient and get 1000 followers organically. It takes time but it’s worth it.
Tip No. 3: Consistency is key
You will not get a viral video in your first week. And probably not in the first month also. You need to keep showing up even when the views are low. It might take one or two months, or more.
But if you have a good camera and you keep posting within your niche atleast 4-5 times a week, your time will come.
Tip No. 4: First 2 seconds are the most important
TikTok is all about grabbing attention. And if you don’t get someone’s attention in the first seconds, you’ll almost certainly lose it completely.
Use a trending sound. If the sound is good, there’s a high chance people will stay on the video longer.
Make content that’s sharable. The more people share a video, the more it will get pushed out to even more people.
Use these tips and i’m sure you will see success on TikTok in the near future.
